Sweetness

This was taken recently and it was done by Zuné. Not sure if it’s clear enough for everyone to see but it says “You are nice. I like you. I love you. Love, Zuné”.

I was so touched when I received it. I have received notes similar to that and drawings but they were from my nieces so it’s kinda understandable but coming from someone else’s child - that means a lot to me. Zuné did that for me a week ago and it was actually early in the morning when she made that. In some ways, she reminds me so much of my eldest niece. She loves to draw and design things as much Wafi loves to. To be around Zuné, to have her with us – in some ways, helps me in coping with my missing my nieces back home.

Without sounding arrogant or cocky, I knew I’d get along well with Dawie’s kids, Zuné and JD. It’s only because they are so close to the ages of my nieces and sincerely, I love them because of who they are – kids are a good judge of character and they tell as it is. Like my nieces, they are great and smart. Also, I don’t pretend to be someone else when I am with them. I’m the same way with them as I am with my nieces.

I’m just happy that we get along and that I enjoy having them around and I hope in return, they feel the same way about me.
