I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I intended to be.
Summer has been here for a couple of months now and for the past few weeks, it has been extremely hot. There were days we would rather stay home and just stay in the air conditioned bedroom so that we don’t have to face the sun but with Zune and JD around, Dawie made some plans to keep them busy and out of boredom. Apart from jumping into the pool now and then in the first couple of weeks, we did the usual dining out as well.
Last Saturday, the sun was out and it was very hot so Dawie decided to take us out and I named it the road trip as we didn’t really know where we were heading. Dawie was probably following his guts ‘smile’ which was fine by me as I trust this man. So off we went into the sunrise.
First off, it was Grabouw. Then we headed towards Elgin and Villiersdorp was next. In between Elgin and Villiersdorp, there’s a dam called Theewaterskloofdam (yes, it’s that long and it’s in Afrikaans – Wani, I’m sure you have difficulty in pronouncing this! ‘smile’). The water is so blue and welcoming that I really wanted to jump in (obviously, the heat made me want to do that as well!).
One of many things I love about Cape Town is that road trips usually means seeing never ending panorama of mountains and the sea. No matter how many times I’m being driven in the same highways or roads, the view is always breathtaking! At times, I feel so overwhelmed with feelings and gratitude to the Lord Almighty for all this fantastic scenery.
Did u hit the watersport area? It's fab!
