Facebook Status Updates

I don’t get updates like these:

“This meeting is sooo boring!!’

or

“The meeting is about to start..”

“Oh I’m off to a meeting at the (insert company name) and it’s going to be a long day”.

Yeah and so? Shouldn’t you concentrate on what’s going on in the meeting rather than update your FB status?! I think that’s just plain rude. Oh and the meeting is about to start.. should I be there?? Am I late for it?! Oh wait.. I’m not working with you!

My updates are mostly random stupidity, sometimes I make fun of myself or other people (mostly my siblings and best friend – they are cool, they LOVE me!). Otherwise it can be on anything and everything – even some really awesome updates, if I may so myself ‘smile’. But they were never updated in a middle of a meeting nor casual meet ups with family or(and) friends.

I’ve gone on meetings and several times, the meetings had been a yawn-fest moment but I didn’t feel the need to update my FB status to let people know how boring or sleepy I was.

Maybe it’s just me. Maybe I don’t see the humour in it, if it was meant to be funny. Perhaps, I can’t relate…

  3. Ooh! I love this blog! I hate those updates that go like this, 'Oh I love you so much my lovely boyfriend, you mean the world to me. Your eyes are like the stars. Lots and lots of smoochy kisses xXxXxXxXx'

Erm...yeah. PUT IT ON HIS WALL!!! I JUST ATE! I DON'T WANNA THROW UP!!! lol

At the moment I have a girl on my facebook that I used to work with. She had a baby a few months ago. I should probably first mention she was the most immature girl I had ever known. Now, she keeps putting status' up about how immature people on facebook are and they need to grow up and get jobs blah blah blah.

Right... So you had a baby and now you have to spoil everyone elses fun? Suddenly you're so much more grown up because you have a child?

She had a status up just a couple of days ago which I was going to post but when I went to look she has deleted it. I'm guessing it was something to do with my reply to it.

Basically it said something about growing up and not dressing like a goth when you're over the age of 16. Up until my friend had her baby, she dressed like a goth. Bare in mind, this girl is 21. And her baby was only born in August 2010.

She also said, you don't have to dress like a goth to like metal music.

My reply went something along the lines of...

Not all goths are the same. I have a friend who is a single mother at 27. Her child is 2 years old now. She's a fashion student and dresses like a goth. She dresses this way because she loves the gothic look. And she also hates metal music. She's actually a big fan of JLS and Shakira. She loves cheesy music and is actually very girly.

I can't say I'm surprised she deleted the status. She came across as very judgemental. I hate people who sterotype other people.

I can see me bumping heads with this girl again but if I'm honest, it's fun. =D
