On the last day of 2010, we went to Dawie's sister's house in Stellenbosch for a braai. It was a very nice and cosy house. His sister and brother-in-law are friendly and made me feel comfortable. His mother brought Tiki along and she looked so adorable with her pink choker.
The food was really good and over all, it was a good last day of 2011.
The next day, we were meant to go to Bluerock for a braai with Dawie's family and friends in celebration of his upcoming birthday but due to the unpredictable weather of Cape Town - it rained! - Dawie decided to head over to Kleinmond for the day. We drove up there and had lunch at Gringos - a seafood restaurant - with hake & chips, calamari, mussels - you name it! They were really good too.
For the first time, I saw a gay couple with a baby which they probably adopted recently - she looked about a few months old and sooo cute in her pink attire. They were with another gay couple. I know a lot of gay back home but none were ready to adopt a child nor were they ready for a committed relationship - most were still having fun flirting or well, just plain discouraged with having a serious relationship due to being heartbroken and all. One more thing is that not a lot of my gay friends out of the closet - just yet. Due to the fact that it's just not acceptable but hey, for me... the hell with what people think - do what you think is best for you!
(Due to the very hot weather right now, I'm going to take a shower!)
To be continued...
