Last weekend was amazing – we got up to a lot of things – writing, shopping, socialising and vigorous exercising ‘grin’. We received a lot of article-writing tasks (not complaining, it’s a good thing albeit overwhelming!) and honestly for me, it has been enjoyable since Dawie started writing with me. We spent some time writing articles on Saturday morning and then went to the mall to do some shopping.
I sat at Viva E Caffe while he went off to print some documents. Viva E Caffe was said to be the branded coffee compared to other cafes in Somerset Mall. I love the cappuccino and it reminds me of the coffees I had at Alexis. I tried the Lindt chocolate cupcake and I was not disappointed – it was incredibly good. Again, it felt like I was back home savouring Cupcake Chic’s chocolate cupcake.
So there I was sitting on the comfy couch whilst writing a blog post of 150 words on glass countertops when this old woman came with her cuppa, sat on the chair (which was Dawie’s initial seat) without asking me if there was anyone sitting there. No ‘hello’, no smiles. She sat there with her nose up in the friggin’ air and had the bloody cheek to take the sugar packets from Dawie’s coffee!! How rude! Behind her sat another old lady that looked so appalled at her behaviour and gave me a pity look. I just smiled and said “some people have no class”. I doubt the rude old woman heard me. I couldn’t care less if she did. It’s incredulous how some people are so rude at that age. You would think older people have more class and would ask if this seat is taken or anything along that line. That incident didn’t ruin my day, of course but it was one of those moments where it made you think about how lucky you are to be brought up in a polite environment. My late mother would have smacked me if I did anything like that!
She left right after her cuppa (thank goodness!) and the sexy Sportsman came back (triple thank goodness!) with a trolley full of goodies! He said he had a couple of surprises for me and you would think he’d keep it to himself until we got home… nope, he went ahead and told me what they were ‘smile’. He bought me a work station ‘smile’ so that I’d have a comfy working environment at home which was very considerate and sweet of him ‘sigh – he is so sexy’. On top of that, he bought each of us a laptop tray from Game – I’m not sure how many varieties of colours it comes in but he bought blue and red (he knows how much I hate pink). It has a holder on each side and what’s great about this laptop tray is that you can store your paperwork inside the tray – it opens up on top (Velcro-type) and you just stuff your papers, chocolates (yeah, I’d do that) and little other trinkets.
Right after, we went home and he assembled the workstation – I used it right away! ‘smile’. Writing articles have kept us very busy over the weekend but it was great that we made some time to spend the day out.
These past 2 weeks have been incredibly amazing – for me – personally, it is mostly because I have done some thinking since the day Dawie and I had a discussion over things in the past. He opened up to me more than he did in the past and vice versa – that brought us closer and at the same time, working together has given our relationship a whole new meaning – it feels great and doesn’t feel forced at all. Just the kind of partnership I have been seeking…
That was not nice of that lady! You get people like that everywhere. It's a shame. On the bright side, you got the surprises from your partner.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it was just at that moment that I was disgusted by her behaviour but there's nothing we can do about people like her.
ReplyDeleteTrue - but even if he didn't get me anything, I'd still be happy :)
=O I totally want...nope...NEED one of those laptop trays! I'm gonna go find one on ebay! lol =D
ReplyDeleteYou should get one! I'm sure you the comfy ones over there. I'm very happy with the one I have. It's very comfortable on the lap and at the same time, the top of the tray is sturdy so it's balanced. Oooh let me know when you find a good one!
